Fun Projects

This was in response to a competition brief for the RSA Postage Stamps 2011.
The brief stated that I had to base the stamps on UK 'Fashion Classics', so I created
each stamp based on a well known UK fashion designer. I used the idea of prints to
create each of them, making unique fashion figures that work individually as well
as them working as a group.

This was in response to a competition brief set by the Puffin Design Awards
to create a children's book cover for 'James & The Giant Peach'.

I wanted to create something different compared to the usual J&TGP covers, so in the
end I went with a typography approach, creating each letter based on either one of the
insect characters or an actual scene from the story. Doing it in this way gives snippets to
what the story entails, without giving it away to the viewer.

"Ribboney" is an illustrated typeface, which is based on the form of the
ribbon, taking its playful nature in fine detail.

I have created a type specimen based on the typeface 'Ribboney'. I used photography to
show it off at its best, emphasising the playfulness of the ribbon. I printed & bound the
book myself, & covered the hard back cover with the same coloured ribbon as shown in
the pages of the book, to in keep with the theme throughout.
